Wintergreen & The PostcardsHow is a unit of pleasure measured? One way might be to register the satisfaction of those who attended tonight’s musical enlightenment. The Postcards had a loveable fun feel to them. The guitars purred with rhythm and the lyrics poured onto a thirsty audience. For me the top prize of the evening went to Wintergreen. The five-piece band has an edgy experimental pop appeal. Andrew, the wire thin vocalist twists his body round every vowel and the choice of instruments, namely an accordion and the rarely seen melodica, push the music in interesting and surprising areas. In between the bands the DJ played a fine selection of tracks and certainly didn’t disappoint. A hearty and fulfilling evening and one that I’d make room for again. |
